Our Expertise
The J P Kenny Operations Support group provides effective independent services to
help owners maintain and optimise the performance of subsea systems, pipelines and
associated facilities.
The team, consisting of more than 100 experts, has provided a full range of operation
support services to a number of the super-majors for more than 10 years. In a sense
the group can be seen as an owners' operations department, and can fill the majority
of those functions if required. However, J P Kenny is also pleased to deal with
specific operating problems or one-off technical challenges.
Underlying many of our operations support processes are proprietary technologies.
These include systems for asset data management, spares management, fitness for
purpose assessment, and the optimisation of maintenance regimes. This analytical
approach is combined with very practical experience derived from years of running
real operations.
Key Capabilities
The J P Kenny operations support team has developed propriety processes technologies
and capabilities including:
Management, Integrity & Data Assessment System: This provides a single window
and data source for managing all aspects of inspection, maintenance and repair activities.
It deals with asset information from design, through fabrication, operations and
abandonment, and gives engineers ready access to the data that drives effective
asset decision making.
Equipment Reliability/Maintainability: J P Kenny has developed propriety
processes for optimising the maintainability of pipeline and subsea assets. Using
reliability data collected from years of operation, our engineers recommend inspection
methods and frequencies, and propose modifications and enhancements to increase
system performance.
Fitness for purpose/engineering critical assessment: There is a wide range
of assessment methods and codes that may be applied to assets which have suffered
degradation or which exhibit defects. J P Kenny has developed a suite of processes
that ensures that the most realistic assessment approach is used.
Controls systems and umbilical support: J P Kenny has developed a particular
skill set in these areas, with expertise that includes; specification of control
system components, technical analysis of control systems and management of Total
Vendor Maintenance Contracts.
Project Management and Engineering: Many of the management and engineering
processes which J P Kenny applies to its other activities, are tailored for use
in operations support. These include propriety cost, planning, document control
and risk management processes. Our extensive range of engineering software is also
used to support many repair and upgrade projects.
