J P Kenny - Jakarta, Indonesia
Although JP Kenny has undertaken a number of Indonesia projects, it wasn't until
2002 that JP Kenny Indonesia was established as a trading division of PT Wood Group
Indonesia. Since then JP Kenny Indonesia has grown into the largest specialized
pipeline and subsea engineering company in Indonesia with a team approaching 60
people. The team comprises a mix of expatriate staff and a large contingent of Indonesian
engineers, thereby delivering Indonesian projects with the maximum utilization of
local content. One of the keys to our success is the integration and knowledge transfer
of JP Kenny's significant group experience and knowledge to talented high caliber
local Indonesian engineers whom we select from the industry as well as from the
best technical Indonesian universities.
In the last few years, JP Kenny Indonesia has undertaken onshore and offshore pipeline
projects ranging from conceptual studies, to pre-FEED engineering, through to FEED,
detailed engineering and construction services. We have shown to save Operators
and contractors significant dollars through diligent engineering, innovative solutions
and by using sophisticated software. For example, in Indonesia we have the largest
number of engineers in providing specialist FEA solutions to complex pipeline problems.
Having been well established in Indonesia, JP Kenny are now being called regularly
by the Indonesian Oil and Gas regulators to provide expert technical opinions on
a number of complex subsea and pipeline issues.
The majority of projects undertaken by JP Kenny are domestic Indonesian projects.
However, due to our geographical location we have also stretched out our expertise
to other regions and either have completed or are currently undertaking projects
in Thailand, India, Philippines, China, Korea and the Middle East. We have worked
on these regional projects either in our own capacity or in conjunction with other
JP Kenny offices.
Through its tight integration with the WGIM's team in Jakarta, JP Kenny Indonesia
has been able to provide support for clients in areas of integrity, risk, materials,
and corrosion. This includes materials and integrity input into new projects (such
as at FEED stage), and also support for Brownfield projects, including pipeline
risk assessments, integrity management systems, and fitness for service assessments.
This 'whole of life' approach to pipeline and asset management sets JP Kenny Indonesia
apart from many of its competitors.
