The J P Kenny Offshore Renewables group has had worldwide involvement in the delivery of offshore renewables projects for over the past 10 years, with centres of offshore renewables expertise based in Perth, London and Aberdeen.
It is the mission of our Renewables Services to provide the highest standards of occupational health and safety, while protecting the environment, and to provide flexible pricing solutions to minimize customer costs and align ourselves with the customer financial and operational goals. With the unique ability to leverage J P Kenny's vast expertise and depth of operation and maintenance services in other areas, J P Kenny is able to provide a customised solution to any scope of work.
J P Kenny has led a number of development projects to improve the technical feasibility and cost effectiveness of renewable energy schemes, including a review of offshore logistics for wind farms and a review of power transmission options. Therefore, J P Kenny is able to support all aspects of the development cycle of marine renewables projects, from the conceptual studies right through to operational support.
Since its formation in 1978, J P Kenny has remained independent of product and construction companies, guaranteeing independent, unbiased advice.
Key Capabilities
In order to deliver value, the J P Kenny Offshore Renewables group has developed proven processes, technologies and capabilities:
- Structural design expertise capable of optimising fixed and floating renewable energy structures
- More than 30 engineers with expertise in offshore controls and electrical systems
- An operations support team of more than 50 staff that run offshore facilities on behalf of operators, that can transfer these expertise to the operations of marine renewables projects
- Significant teams of engineers in all offices with experience in offshore construction who are able to provide planning and supervision support to renewable projects
Cost Estimating: Through the many diverse projects that J P Kenny has participated in, cost, schedule, and availability (uptime) information is readily available.
Materials engineering: J P Kenny recognises that correct material selection for any project is paramount to ensure uninterrupted operability. Our specialists produce the material specifications and provide continuous technical support during the tendering and manufacturing processes.
Controls systems: J P Kenny has developed a particular skill set in the marine renewables sector, with expertise that includes; specification of control system components, technical analysis of control systems and management of Total Vendor maintenance Contracts.
